Traditional seams soak up moisture, which leads to leaks and wet clothes.
That's why it's important for the underwear to be seamless and "heat-bonded" around the critical areas.
Check for: smooth, heat-bonded hems instead of thick, rough seams.
It's not enough for underwear simply to be "absorbent".
Each layer needs its own role in handling liquid - absorbing it, spreading it, holding it and stopping it from reaching your clothes.
Check for: a clearly explained multi-layer construction, not just a thicker piece of fabric or padding.
MORE PROTECTION
when you're sitting or lying down
A small absorbent zone only at the bottom of the underwear isn't enough, especially when you're sitting or lying down.
A longer protective zone gives the liquid more room to spread out.
Check for: protection that continues high up the back.

The best choice isn't necessarily the style with the thickest absorbent core, but the one that combines protection and comfort.
